Lady of Grace Teen Ministry

.

When the angel asked Mary to accept the challenge and responsibility to be the Mother of Jesus, Mary responded in her free will, "Be it done to me according to thy word" (Luke 1:38).  This "yes" of Mary is known as her great "Fiat".

As Catholics, and as Christians, we are also called to say yes to God's call to "love one another" (John 13:34); to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and the imprisoned (Matthew 25:34-46).

Our "yes", our "fiat", comes in the form of our service to our neighbor.  As a Catholic Teen Ministry Program we are committed to providing awareness and service to our community, caring for our world, and reaching out to the marginalized.

Currently, our Confirmation Program requires the participation in one of our F.I.A.T. service activities, but they are not limited to just Confirmation Candidates.  All teens are invited and encouraged to participate in as many F.I.A.T. experiences as they like.  These activities will also feature an educational and reflective component with the service program in order to offer a more complete and holistic opportunity to get a taste of our universal call to holiness and service to our neighbor.

Besides our F.I.A.T. experiences, there are plenty of other needs in the area that need a helping hand.  If you are interested in being of further service to your neighbor, click on the link below for other opportunities.

The FIAT Service Program concept was developed by
